Additional support for FTHB and LEAP programs from Citibank
Stamford, CT, April 10, 2015– Housing Development Fund of Stamford is pleased to announce Citibanks’ participation in two of HDF’s programs; one is HDF’s time tested and premier first time homeownership counseling program and the other one of HDF’s newest programs, LEAP or Landlord Entrepreneur Assistance Program.
HDF’s President Joan Carty says of Citibank’s continuing and targeted support, Citibank is a true partner with HDF stepping up to support a core program, but also remaining steadfast to HDF as we launch the LEAP program after some unforeseen delays.
The LEAP program brings together HDF’s successful track record supporting first-time homebuyers with financing and supporting the rehabilitation of small multifamily properties as affordable housing, and a host of strong partnerships to provide local residents with support to become owner occupants of small multifamily properties (2-4 unit) in foreclosure-impacted census tracts.
In partnership with CHFA and the CT Department of Housing (DOH), HDF will provide lending to help our Landlord Entrepreneurs purchase, renovate and improve the energy efficiency of their new homes – increasing the local stock of high quality affordable rental housing along the way. HDF is working to promote LEAP and to counsel and educate a number of clients who are considering purchase of a 2-4 family home.
A portion of the Citibank award goes towards the counseling and educational initiative for potential landlords.
Since 1989, HDF has made affordable housing a reality in Connecticut and beyond.
