HDF is overjoyed to receive a $15K award from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation COVID19 Resiliency Grants for our foreclosure prevention program!
Since 1999, HDF’s free homebuyer counseling program has been a cornerstone of our efforts to create sustainable affordable housing throughout Connecticut. Historically, our program has been focused on helping potential homebuyers. However, when the Great Recession hit in 2007, we realized that people facing foreclosure needed our help. So, HDF expanded our counseling to help residents facing forbearance and foreclosure stay in their homes. Now once more, the Coronavirus has placed many homeowners in a precipitous situation. We are thrilled to announce that thanks to the generosity of Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF), we have been awarded a $15,000 COVID19 Resiliency Grant to fund forbearance and foreclosure prevention counseling once more at no cost to our clients. HDF extends its sincere thanks to FCCF for continuing to support our mission and our community, especially now as we all join together to stand strong and resilient.
