On November 15th, 2016, HDF joined the Women’s Institute for Housing & Economic Development, Farmington Bank, and other partners to break ground at the Danielson Mill.
The Housing Development Fund, Inc will provide $4.1 million in financing for the Mill at Killingly, a new mixed-use development on the site of the Danielson Mill which will provide 32 units of affordable housing to the city of Killingly. HDF’s Joan Carty offered remarks, along with WIHED’s Betsy Crum and DECD’s Evonne Klein, among others.
Evonne Klein, commissioner of the state Department of Housing, praised the many agencies working on the project. “Mill projects are my personal favorites and supportive housing is near and dear to me,” she said. “It’s being able to see up close the people who use this housing and see their lives transformed in a positive way.”
