Homebuyer education (HBE) classes are open to everyone, whether you’ve already applied for a mortgage or not. In fact, no matter where you are in the home buying process, this 8-hour course will boost your skills and knowledge of the homebuying process.

HBE classes are mandatory for CHFA loan applicants under the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Homeownership Program, and may be required for other loan programs as well. All HDF borrowers in our First Time Homebuyer Program must complete an 8-hour Home Buyer Education Class before closing.

At HDF, you work one on one with an adviser to chart your path to homeownership from start to finish. Together with your adviser, you will develop an action plan to increase savings, reduce debt, and identify programs that work for you. Create an HDF profile to get started!
